Job summary

RENCO in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations at our Eltham plant. This hands-on leadership role supervises a team of Process Operators to ensure safe, compliant production of enzyme products.

You will drive GMP compliance, coach performance, and implement continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment, with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency. Onboarding and training support are included.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, or Senior Operator
• Strong commitment to maintain H&S standards
• Background in food, dairy, biotech, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Strong understanding of GMP, food safety, and quality systems
• Confident people leader with the ability to motivate and manage performance
• Calm, practical problem-solver with a hands-on approach
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Experience with enzyme, dairy, or fermentation processes
• Qualification in food technology, engineering, or manufacturing
• Qualification in H&S
• Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate production activities across the site
• Lead, coach, and support Process Operators to achieve production and quality targets
• Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, quality, and H&S requirements
• Monitor production performance, yields, and downtime; upscale and resolve issues
• Review and approve batch documentation, logs, and shift handovers
• Ensure effective staffing, break management, and task allocation
• Support incident investigations, deviations, and CAPA activities
• Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Planning teams
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and efficiency
• Participate in onboarding, training, and competency development of operators
