Job Description

An opportunity has arisen in an agile team with varied strengths for an Engineer to work across the entire portfolio of MBDA UK products, undertaking sophisticated analysis and supporting laboratory and field trials.


Salary:

Up to £55,000 (depending on experience)

Location:

Stevenage


Working Arrangements:

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Typically 4 days per week on-site, due to workload classification.


Security Clearance:

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. Successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The Opportunity:

The Trials and Analysis team within Environmental Engineering is integral to all land, sea, and air-based weapons system projects. They provide key technical expertise across all product lifecycle stages, including requirements specification, data analysis, simulation, modelling, and testing.

The Role:
  • Apply specialist technical knowledge to complex systems and structural mechanisms, advising projects and delivering data evaluation activities.
  • Collaborate with customers on data gathering trials, assessments, platform integration, and structural modal assessments, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and investigations, including assessing technical options and preparing reports with recommendations for shock and vibration issues.
  • Develop test specifications and perform vibration, shock, and signal evaluation activities following all standards.
  • Plan, deliver, and monitor work packages, making engineering decisions within your responsibility and authority.
  • Improve engineering capabilities through methods and process development.
Candidate Requirements:

A strong technical background in environmental, mechanical, or related fields, with:

  • Excellent investigative and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Motivation and adaptability
  • Experience analyzing vehicle/missile operations in complex environments
  • Instrumentation and signal processing experience (helpful)
  • Vibration, shock, and thermal analysis experience (preferred)
