Job Description:

Role: Toxicologist (Environmental Analytical Chemistry)

Contract Role

Location: Remote, UK Coverage

We are seeking an Independent Analytical Chemistry Technical Assessor in Toxicology. Our external Technical Assessors play a vital role in the UKAS assessment process, providing essential expertise to evaluate laboratories across the UK.

Ongoing right to work in the UK is a pre-requisite for this position.

Ideal candidates will have experience in toxicology or workplace drug testing, and the following qualifications:

• Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing laboratory.
• Deep understanding of quality control across various analytical techniques.
• Knowledge of data performance checks and data integrity requirements.
• Experience handling matrices involved in toxicology testing.
• Experience with screening and instrumental techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with laboratory staff, management, and customers at all levels.

Key Skills:

• Practical laboratory experience.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry-standard methods and sector schemes.
• Experience in ISO/IEC 17025 standard testing and calibration laboratories.
• Auditing experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with Certification Body staff, management, and assessment teams.
• Full training provided for UKAS report writing, ISO/IEC 17024:2012 awareness, and UKAS systems.
