A leading construction firm is seeking an Environmental Technician to support compliance with environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong construction experience and knowledge of CDM, alongside a Bachelor of Science or equivalent practical experience. Responsibilities include sampling waste materials and supporting waste management on projects. Our Environmental team is critical to our business, providing advice across all phases of planned and unplanned work. They establish baseline conditions on environmental aspects, and impacts, that could adversely affect operations.
The RoleThe Environmental Technician will carry out sampling of waste materials, mainly spoil and tarmac, to ensure Anglian Water complies with the Streetworks Protocol. You will also support sampling on small capital works outside the protocol and provide guidance on waste handling when needed.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new role within a forward thinking team, supporting high quality delivery, strong regulatory relationships, and responsible environmental practice. Your will travel throughout the Anglian Water region including Lincoln, Grantham and Peterborough.
Previous construction experience and a strong working knowledge of CDM.
A Bachelor of Science or equivalent practical experience is essential, along with a background in similar roles.
We're also looking for someone who understands project processes and has experience in the water industry or another highly regulated environment.
Excellent communication and influencing skills are key to succeeding in this position.
A full UK driving license is also required.
