Job summary

Radius is seeking an Environmental & Sustainability Senior Advisor to join our Sustainability & ESG team in Crewe. You will own the environmental management framework, shape our sustainability reporting approach and build expertise at the forefront of environmental regulation, carbon management and low-carbon mobility.

Working with the Climate Change & Environment Manager, you’ll have autonomy to make a real impact from day one, driving EMS readiness and coordinating carbon data for mandatory

Qualifications

• Around 4-5 years' experience in environmental or sustainability-focused roles.
• Hands-on experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience gathering and analysing environmental or carbon-related data.
• Interest in sustainability reporting and evolving ESG requirements.
• Proactive mindset with ownership to drive improvement.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI and digital sustainability tools.

Responsibilities

• Environmental Management: Support EMS aligned to ISO 14001 and lead for ISO 14001:2026 transition.
• Maintain environmental policies, procedures and governance documentation.
• Manage Environmental Legal Register and track legislation UK/Europe.
• Monitor environmental, energy and EV legislation across UK/Europe.
• Build relationships to drive environmental awareness and continuous improvement.

This is a newly created role and a unique opportunity to take ownership of our environmental management framework, help shape our sustainability reporting approach, and build expertise at the forefront of environmental regulation, carbon management and low-carbon mobility.

Working closely with our Climate Change & Environment Manager, you'll have the support, exposure and autonomy to make a real impact from day one.

Job Description

Environmental Management

• Supporting and developing our Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 14001 standards
• Leading preparations for the upcoming ISO 14001:2026 transition
• Maintaining environmental policies, procedures and governance documentation
• Managing our Environmental Legal Register and tracking changing legislation across multiple jurisdictions
• Monitoring emerging environmental, energy and EV legislation across the UK and Europe
• Building relationships across the business to drive environmental awareness, engagement and continuous improvement

Sustainability Reporting

• Coordinating carbon footprint data and becoming a key user of Watershed, one of the world's leading carbon accounting platforms
• Supporting mandatory sustainability reporting requirements, including CSRD, SECR, ESOS and related frameworks

Mobility and Automotive

• Track and keep up to date with relevant key legislation and regulations affecting the mobility and automotive sectors (e.g. the upcoming bans on the sale of ICE vehicles).
• Track and keep up to date with energy and EV regulation affecting the Group, including UK and EU developments such as the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) and EV charging standards.
