Stantec in the United Kingdom is seeking an exceptional Business Centre Operations Leader to shape the future of its Environmental Services Business Line. You’ll oversee about 200 professionals across environmental planning, climate and sustainability, ecology, and related disciplines.

This visible role drives commercial and operational performance, owning plans, budgets, forecasts and KPIs while ensuring workforce planning and resilience.

Qualifications

• Experienced operational or business leader with a track record of leading complex teams and delivering commercial performance in consultancy/environmental sectors.
• Strong commercial, financial and operational acumen with a history of growth and change.
• Inclusive and collaborative leadership that develops, engages and retains talent, builds trust across a matrix organisation.
• Commitment to safety, wellbeing and technical quality with the ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Business Centre’s commercial and operational performance, driving sustainable growth, strong financial results and continuous improvement.
• Own business plans, budgets, forecasts and KPIs, ensuring effective workforce planning, resource utilisation and organisational resilience.
• Attract, develop and retain high‑performing, inclusive teams, with focus on talent, succession and leadership development.
• Provide direction to senior leaders, strengthen strategic client relationships, support major pursuits and drive revenue growth.
• Champion collaboration, technical excellence, accountability and innovation, while promoting safety and responsible business practices.
