Job summary

Sharper Consulting Services seeks an Environmental Protection Officer to join our client’s Environmental Protection team in the South West. You will own a live statutory nuisance and noise caseload with minimal hand-holding and maximum autonomy.

You will manage your own caseload, conduct noise investigations and acoustics assessments, gather evidence, and prepare enforcement actions with sound regulatory judgment. Strong local authority EP background and EPA 1990 experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong local authority Environmental Protection background.
• Hands-on EPA 1990 experience.
• CIEH-accredited qualification preferred.
• Confidence to work independently from day one.

Responsibilities

Sharper is working with our local authority client in the South West. They need an experienced Officer to join their Environmental Protection teamandtake ownership of a live statutory nuisance and noise caseload. Minimal hand-holding, maximum autonomy.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing your own statutory nuisance caseload
• Noise investigation, monitoring and acoustics assessment
• Evidence gathering and case preparation for enforcement action
• Proportionate, confident regulatory decision-making

What you'll need:

• Strong local authority EP background
• Practical, hands-on EPA 1990 experience
• A CIEH-accredited qualification (preferred)
• The confidence to work independently from day one

What you'll get:

• 6 months, up to 37 hrs/week
• 3 days/week on site
• Mileage reimbursed
• Rate: Inside IR35 £42-£50 per hour- depending on experience
• Starting ASAP
