Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is recruiting an experienced Environmental Protection Officer on an interim basis to support a local authority in the South West.

The successful candidate will investigate environmental nuisance complaints such as noise, odour, smoke, and other issues, assess cases, carry out site visits, gather evidence, and work with residents and businesses to resolve matters in line with legislation.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complaints relating to environmental nuisance, including noise, statutory nuisance, smoke, odour and other environmental issues.
• Assess complaints and determine appropriate enforcement or investigative action.
• Carry out site visits and inspections where required.
• Gather evidence and maintain accurate case records.
• Liaise with complainants, businesses, landowners and other stakeholders.
• Prepare correspondence, reports and case documentation.
• Provide advice on environmental protection legislation and appropriate remedial action.
• Work towards resolving cases efficiently and proportionately.
• Where necessary, support formal enforcement action and preparation of evidence.
• Manage an allocated caseload independently and effectively

Supporting a local authority in the South West with the appointment of an experienced Environmental Protection Officer on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Protection Officer or Environmental Health professional looking for a flexible interim assignment within a supportive local authority environment.

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for investigating and managing environmental nuisance complaints, working closely with residents, businesses and other relevant stakeholders to resolve issues effectively and in line with legislation.
