Job summary

The Oyster Partnership Ltd. is seeking an experienced Environmental Protection Officer / Private Water Supply Officer on a 10-week contract with immediate start. Up to 30 hours per week, with flexible 4 or 5-day patterns and hybrid working.

Priority will be given to candidates with local authority Environmental Protection experience and PWS risk assessment experience, who can manage their own caseload with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience in Environmental Protection or similar public health roles is preferred.
• Experience with Private Water Supply risk assessments is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage a case load independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support an existing Environmental Protection backlog within a local authority.
• Carry out Private Water Supply risk assessments where applicable.
• Self-manage a portfolio of cases with flexibility and reliability.
• Contribute to flexible/hybrid working arrangements for the team.

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Environmental Protection Officer / Private Water Supply Officer to support a local authority with an existing backlog of Environmental Protection work. This is an immediate-start, 10-week contract, offering up to 30 hours per week, with flexibility around working patterns. The client can accommodate 4 or 5 working days per week and offers a flexible/hybrid working arrangement. The successful candidate will ideally have experience within Environmental Protection, with particular preference given to those who have previously undertaken Private Water Supply (PWS) risk assessments and can confidently manage their own caseload with minimal supervision.
