Overview

The Dawn Meats Group is one of Europe’s leading food processing companies and operates as Dunbia in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company committed to producing better, natural food.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Officer at Treburley. The successful candidate will report to both the Site Operations Manager and Group Environmental Manager, providing advice on environmental matters in accordance with legislation and customer requirements. Standard hours are 8:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday. Salary is dependent on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional assistance on industry-related environmental matters under the guidance of the Group Environmental Manager.
  • Record Environmental KPIs and performance objectives; report to the Site Operations Manager during environmental/energy meetings with the aim to develop energy initiatives.
  • Operate in compliance with the site’s EPR / EA licence conditions.
  • Develop and maintain the environmental and energy management systems for the site.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 environmental and ISO 50001 energy standards.
  • Investigate and report all environmental incidents in line with legislative and company requirements.
  • Keep environmental training for colleagues up to date and legally compliant; deliver in-house environmental training to enhance knowledge and performance.
  • Manage the performance and development of team members reporting to this role, providing performance feedback and ensuring adherence to policies, legislative requirements, and customer standards.
  • Support the Engineering team in the operation and monitoring of the on-site wastewater treatment plant and related discharge activities.
Qualifications
  • Graduate or third-level qualification desirable but not essential; relevant academic or professional qualifications are preferred.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic working environment.
  • Driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.
