Job description

The Dawn Meats Group is one of Europe’s leading food processing companies and operates as Dunbia in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company committed to producing better, natural food.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Officer at Treburley. The successful candidate will report to both the Site Operations Manager and Group Environmental Manager, providing advice on environmental matters in compliance with legislation and customer requirements. Standard hours are 8:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday. Salary will depend on experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional assistance on industry-specific environmental matters, guided by the Group Environmental Manager.
• Record Environmental KPIs and performance objectives; report to the Site Operations Manager during environmental/energy meetings with the goal of developing energy initiatives.
• Operate within the terms and conditions of the site’s EPR / EA license.
• Develop and maintain the environmental and energy management systems for the site.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 14001 (environmental) and ISO 50001 (energy) standards.
• Investigate and report all environmental incidents in accordance with legislative and company requirements.
• Keep environmental training for colleagues up to date and legally compliant; deliver in-house environmental training to enhance knowledge and performance.
• Manage the performance and development of team members reporting to this role, providing performance feedback and ensuring adherence to policies, legislative requirements, and customer standards.
• Support the Engineering team in the operation of the on-site wastewater treatment plant and monitor discharges related to its operation.

Qualifications
