Job summary

Murphy is recruiting an Environmental Manager to lead environmental and sustainability efforts on multiple energy projects across the North East and Yorkshire. The role collaborates with the SHESQ function to drive best practices, compliance, and continuous improvement in environmental performance.

Ideal candidates will have Chartered IEMA status, strong incident investigation experience, and expertise in carbon measurement and Net Zero initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental risk mitigation on major construction projects.
• Knowledge of Waste management, Water management, pollution prevention and biodiversity net gain.

Responsibilities

• Establish and provide leadership in best practice for environmental and sustainability matters.
• Ensure personnel awareness of statutory duties and responsibilities and provide guidance as required.
• Lead with site management teams to ensure compliance with environmental plans.
• Oversee accident/incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Collate and review environmental statistics to identify trends and improvements.
• Develop and implement environmental campaigns and improvement plans with Operations/SHES Director.
