Job description
Overview

As a member of our Environmental Enforcement team, you will be part of a small team that delivers a range of environmental enforcement functions across Kingston and Sutton. The role includes investigating complaints about fly tipping and other waste offences, identification and enforcement of abandoned vehicles, tackling unlawful mooring on the river Thames and using a range of measures to resolve complaints for our residents. This is not a uniformed officer role and you will not be expected to undertake patrols or issue penalties on the spot; instead you will be expected to keep detailed records as you use your skills to investigate allegations and determine the most appropriate enforcement action to secure resolution to issues.

We understand the benefits of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the workplace but we value authenticity and are looking for individuals who can clearly demonstrate their own skills, experience and motivation for the role. We reserve the right to reject applications where it is apparent that AI-generated content has been used in isolation and without personalised responses.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience of investigation and enforcement activities, preferably in environmental enforcement.
  • Conversant with PACE and RIPA; confident at investigating offences, gathering evidence and preparing case files.
