A local government authority in Greater London is seeking a dedicated environmental enforcement officer. You will investigate environmental complaints including fly-tipping and unlawful mooring while maintaining detailed records. Applicants should have experience in investigation and enforcement, along with strong ICT skills. This role offers a hybrid working policy, generous leave, and support for wellbeing, making it an attractive opportunity for the right candidate.
As a member of our Environmental Enforcement team, you will be part of a small team that delivers a range of environmental enforcement functions across Kingston and Sutton. The role includes investigating complaints about fly tipping and other waste offences, identification and enforcement of abandoned vehicles, tackling unlawful mooring on the river Thames and using a range of measures to resolve complaints for our residents. This is not a uniformed officer role and you will not be expected to undertake patrols or issue penalties on the spot; instead you will be expected to keep detailed records as you use your skills to investigate allegations and determine the most appropriate enforcement action to secure resolution to issues.
