Job summary

VRS Regulatory, in Tees Valley, is offering an opportunity to join the EHS team within a global chemicals business. The role focuses on drafting procedures to address gaps in the Responsible Care System and updating EHS procedures within a new management system.

You will work under the guidance of a senior EHS colleague and develop knowledge across EHS management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and H&S practices. A graduate or experienced candidate with an interest in EHS is welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Some H&S competence
• Some experience writing procedures (H&S related e.g. COSHH)
• Document management experience (ideally SharePoint)
• Understanding of EHS Management systems (e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 45001)

• An opportunity to join the EHS team in the UK division of a global chemicals business.
• Assist with the update of key EHS procedures in a new EHS Management system.

Duties will include writing procedures to fill identified gaps in their Responsible Care System; examples of procedures needed are:

• permit to work system
• management of contractors
• change management
• emergency response procedures
• handling and storage of packaging and waste etc.

You will be working under the direction of a senior EHS team member who can provide guidance and support.

This would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop and expand their knowledge of the EHS area; you must have:

• some H&S competence
• some experience of writing procedures (anything H&S related eg COSHH)
• document management experience (ideally SharePoint)
• some understanding of EHS Management systems eg 14001, 45001.

A chemical industry background would be beneficial or some experience of working with chemicals.

This role could suit a graduate with an interest in EHS or someone more experienced looking to assist a business update their EHS procedures. This will initially be a contract/temporary role; there is scope for development and extension for the right person.
