Lawrence Dean Recruitment is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Officer for a busy manufacturing site. You will help promote a positive safety culture, support ISO 14001 compliance, and assist with audits and incident investigations.

The role combines hands-on factory involvement, inductions, training, and environmental initiatives, with responsibilities across risk assessments, waste and energy monitoring, and liaison with suppliers.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in a manufacturing EH&S role.
• Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and risk assessments.
• Experience supporting accident investigations, audits and compliance activities.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental standards is advantageous.
• NEBOSH GC or equivalent qualification desirable.

Aufgaben

• Assist in maintaining environmental and health & safety management systems.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the manufacturing environment.
• Conduct accident and near-miss investigations, identifying improvements and preventative actions.
• Deliver health & safety inductions and training to employees and managers.
• Maintain incident records, training documentation and monthly EH&S reports.
• Monitor environmental performance, including waste management and energy consumption.
• Work with Operations teams to identify risks and implement practical safety improvements.
• Support occupational health, health surveillance and workplace risk assessments.
• Coordinate Fire Marshals, First Aiders and Health & Safety Champions.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits and plant safety reviews.
• Liaise with external suppliers regarding waste management, safety training and monitoring.

Are you an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Officer looking for an opportunity to make a real difference within a busy manufacturing environment? Our client is an established manufacturing business looking for a proactive and hands-on EH&S Officer to join their team.

Working closely with the EH&S Manager and wider Operations team, you'll play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with environmental and health & safety legislation, and supporting continuous improvement across the business.

This is a varied position combining hands-on factory involvement, accident investigations, risk management, employee training and environmental initiatives. We're looking for someone who enjoys engaging with people at all levels and can confidently promote safe working practices throughout the organisation.

Environmental Health & Safety Officer Skills & Experience Required

• Previous Health & Safety or Environmental experience within a manufacturing environment is essential
• Good understanding of health & safety legislation, risk assessments and safe working practices
• Experience supporting accident investigations, audits and compliance activities
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental standards would be advantageous
• NEBOSH General Certificate or relevant HNC/HND/Degree qualification desirable
• Confident delivering health & safety training and engaging with employees at all levels
