Environmental Health Officer (Food Safety)

Location: Ealing

Immediate start, expected duration: 3 months

Field-based but hybrid working. £45 per hour. UMB inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Food Safety Inspections (Category B - E2), with recent LA enforcement experience.
• Support businesses to achieve legal compliance through advice, education, and enforcement actions.
• Respond to and investigate complaints related to food safety, workplace safety, health, and welfare.
• Liaise with external agencies such as FSA, HSE, and Public Health England.
• Investigate infectious disease reports.
• Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve strategic objectives.
• Prepare and review legal documents, reports, and letters.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Professional qualification in food hygiene inspection (Higher Certificate in Food Inspection, EHORB recognised).
• Higher-level qualification relevant to Food Safety (Diploma/Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent).
• Experience with FHRS and food premises inspections.
• Recent LA enforcement experience.
• Proficient in completing paperwork and reports timely.
• Flexible working hours; no computer admin required.
• Experience in inspecting manufacturing is desirable but not essential.
