Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a Technical Enforcement Officer to help achieve regulatory compliance across environmental health services. You will investigate cases, undertake formal actions where needed, and manage a caseload with a focus on customer satisfaction and policy compliance.

The role requires a degree or equivalent and strong planning, organisational and communication skills. A mobile role with flexible working patterns and occasional office meetings is offered.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant Housing/Environmental Health-related subject or relevant work experience.
• Good planning and organisational skills, with proven ability to prioritise and coordinate workload, monitor and evaluate work, to ensure deadlines are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations, undertake informal and formal action as appropriate.
• Manage a personal caseload of reactive environmental protection related work to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with Council policies.
• Investigate requests for service related to noise and nuisance and take appropriate action in partnership with other agencies.
• Undertake site visits as part of investigations and engage with the relevant parties, such as businesses and residents.
• Assess and respond to licensing applications and attend meetings.
