Job description

Environmental Enforcement Officer - Lewisham, London

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the day-to-day monitoring and enforcement of environmental issues and contraventions of relevant legislation.
  2. Conduct mobile and foot patrols of on and off-street areas, inspect public areas, identify contraventions, and issue Fixed Penalty Notices using handheld devices.
  3. Report any environmental problems to relevant departments.
  4. Maintain accurate records of activities, Fixed Penalty Notices issued, and evidence for court proceedings.
  5. Attend court proceedings to support prosecutions when required.
  6. Maintain knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, PACE 1984, and undertake administrative duties following correct audit procedures.
