What does an Environmental Enforcement Officer do?

As an Environmental Enforcement Officer, you will assist in the day-to-day monitoring and enforcement of environmental issues and contraventions of relevant legislation. The key responsibilities include mobile and foot patrols of on and off-street areas, inspecting public areas, identifying contraventions, issuing Fixed Penalty Notices using handheld devices, and reporting environmental problems to relevant departments.

You Will Be Required To

• Maintain accurate records of activities, Fixed Penalty Notices issued, and evidence for court proceedings.
• Attend court to support prosecutions when required.
• Maintain knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, PACE 1984, and undertake administrative duties ensuring correct audit procedures.
