Matchtech Group is seeking an Environmental Consultant to join a leading independent consulting and engineering services group in Preston. The role involves working independently and in project teams to deliver environmental input, data interpretation, and technical reporting to ensure compliance with client standards.

The candidate will work with senior team members across environmental workstreams, maintain audit documentation for the UK and Ireland offices, and contribute to decision-making

Qualifications

• Degree in an environmental discipline and relevant professional experience.
• Experience in environmental consultancy is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to produce technical reports.
• Proactive, collaborative mindset with engineers and specialists.
• Good decision-making, synthesis of information, and logical reasoning.

Our client, a leading independent consulting and engineering services group, is currently seeking an Environmental Consultant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work independently and within project teams to provide environmental input into designs and site support activities
• Analyse and interpret data followed by technical report writing
• Ensure environmental compliance in line with client’s standards, requirements, and policies
• Interface with clients for environmental coordination, resolving queries and issues
• Preparation of technical material to inform decision making
• Support the senior team members in the delivery of environmental workstreams
• Maintain the ISO 14000 audit documentation and process for the UK and Ireland office

Job Requirements:

• Degree Qualified in any of the environmental disciplines
• Previous experience of working in an environmental role, ideally in a consultancy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to write technical reports
• Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with other technical specialists
• Decision-making ability to gather and synthesize information, identify options, and apply judgment based on logic and reason
• Problem-solving capability to identify complex problems, review and analyse information, and evaluate options to implement solutions
• Knowledge of EU and UK environmental legislation and current best practice guidance
