Job summary

Seetec Group Ltd. is hiring an Environmental Officer to join the Health, Safety and Environment team. The role is hybrid with one day per week in Hockley, Essex and regular travel to Seetec sites across the UK.

You will lead environmental compliance, EMS management, and carbon reduction initiatives while shaping our sustainability strategy. You will ensure compliance with environmental legislation, oversee data reporting, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and its practical application in a large/multi-site organisation.
• Experience with Environmental Management Systems, ideally ISO 14001.
• Experience in environmental reporting and data analysis with auditable information.
• Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external assessments or accreditation processes.
• Ability to travel nationally as required.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance activities ensuring adherence to legislation, permit requirements and accreditation standards.
• Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) and ISO 14001 governance.
• Manage environmental performance reporting and data collection across energy, carbon, water, waste and biodiversity.
• Lead carbon footprint measurement, reduction planning and progress monitoring (Scope 1–3).
• Collaborate with procurement and operations to assess supplier environmental performance.
• Identify environmental risks, conduct assessments and implement mitigation plans.
• Lead investigations into environmental incidents and ensure corrective actions.
• Deliver environmental training to embed a sustainability culture.
• Develop projects focused on waste reduction, energy efficiency, biodiversity, circular economy.
• Engage regulators, auditors and stakeholders to support ESG objectives.
