Job summary

SEPA is recruiting two full-time Assistant Scientists for our Chemistry Function at the Angus Smith Building, Eurocentral. The roles focus on environmental monitoring and analysis within Environmental Evidence Laboratory Services, with strict adherence to ISO17025 standards.

We expect SCQF level 6–7 or equivalent, strong teamwork, and good communication. We offer hybrid working, generous leave, LGPS, and development opportunities to support your career.

Qualifications

• Must have a qualification equivalent to SCQF level 6-7.
• Experience and understanding of working in a quality-assured laboratory environment.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver environmental monitoring and analysis within Environmental Evidence Laboratory Services.
• Prepare and analyse environmental samples following established protocols.
• Follow ISO17025 requirements to ensure data integrity and reproducibility.
• Use allocated equipment and arrange maintenance checks for laboratory equipment.
• Work in a team to ensure timely delivery and required quality.
