Job summary

Principal People are recruiting an Environmental Advisor for a Thames Water region project. The role is hybrid, with regular travel across the region, and involves supporting the environmental strategy and advising operational teams on site.

You will review high-risk statements, conduct site inspections and audits, and drive environmental compliance across all project stages. A degree in environmental field is required; ISEP membership is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Environmental qualification or related degree.
• ISEP Practitioner membership or working towards would be advantageous.
• Experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities or water sectors.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the environmental strategy across the framework.
• Provide practical environmental advice and support to operational and site teams.
• Review high-risk method statements, risk assessments and environmental documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, environmental reviews and audits.
• Support environmental compliance across all project stages.
• Investigate environmental incidents and non-conformities, identifying root causes and supporting corrective actions.
• Monitor environmental performance through KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Deliver environmental briefings, training and best practice guidance.
• Support supply chain onboarding and ongoing environmental performance monitoring.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and regulatory stakeholders.
