Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Advisor to join Leonardo Electronics UK (LEUK). The role involves working with and supporting the Environmental & Reporting Manager to ensure LEUK's environmental performance is effective and aligned with sustainability strategies. The position will be based at one of our key UK sites, with a mix of onsite and home-based work.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide environmental and energy management support across all LEUK sites as part of the UK HSE Team.
  2. Assist in maintaining and assessing environmental and energy policies, procedures, and systems to meet legal, corporate, and customer requirements.
  3. Maintain Environmental and Energy Management Systems, including ISO14001 and ISO50001.
  4. Build relationships with stakeholders to promote best practices and a positive environmental culture.
  5. Support implementation of carbon reduction strategies, focusing on Scope I, II, and key Scope III emissions.
  6. Analyze and collate environmental performance data.
  7. Develop environmental reporting and provide data to Italy via Service Now.
  8. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
  9. Conduct site inspections and manage follow-up actions.
  10. Collaborate with HSE Systems Manager on environmental system requirements.
  11. Participate in internal and external environmental audits, including ISO audits.
  12. Stay updated on environmental legislation and industry best practices, communicating changes to relevant departments.
  13. Monitor environmental trends with the HSE Data Analyst to identify improvements.
  14. Develop environmental projects to raise awareness and improve performance.
  15. Promote environmental initiatives and join relevant committees and stakeholder groups.
  16. Travel within the UK as necessary to support HSE activities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree or HND in an environmental subject.
  • Minimum Associate Member of IEMA.
  • Proven experience in delivering environmental, energy, or sustainability improvements.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 50001 management systems.
  • Experience managing HSE systems and UK environmental legislation.
  • Ability to foster a culture of environmental awareness.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Strong interpersonal skills across all levels.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Analytical skills and resilience under pressure.
  • Experience in electronics or chemical industries, HSE/Sustainability roles, auditing, and good presentation skills are desirable.
