Job summary

Electrium in Hindley Green seeks an Environmental Advisor to embed environmental excellence within the EHS team across operations. You will drive governance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement, and contribute to energy efficiency initiatives.

You will lead ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 activities, maintain registers, collect data and KPIs, and support sustainability and carbon reduction objectives with strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 14001/ISO 50001 environmental and energy management systems.
• Knowledge of UK environmental and energy legislation.
• Familiarity with environmental performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Professional integrity and proactive, self-driven approach.

Responsibilities

You’ll make a difference by:

• Be instrumental in ensuring robust environmental governance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Lead and coordinate ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO 50001 (Energy Management Systems) certification activities.
• Maintain environmental and energy legal registers, conduct compliance evaluations, and provide evidence records (e.g., WEEE, Battery, Plastic, & Packaging).
• Collect, analyse, and report environmental and energy performance data, KPIs, and trends to inform management reviews and strategic decision-making.
• Drive initiatives for resource efficiency, waste minimisation, and pollution prevention.
• Contribute significantly to our long-term sustainability objectives and carbon reduction strategies.

What we are looking for:

• In-depth understanding of Environmental & Energy Management Systems (ISO 14001/ISO 50001).
• Knowledge of UK and applicable international environmental and energy legislation.
• Familiarity with sustainability and environmental performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• High levels of professionalism, integrity, and personal drive.

Desirable but not essential:

• Relevant qualifications such as a NEBOSH Environmental Diploma or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor are highly desirable.
• Ability to write and develop 'Group, Local' procedures.
• Awareness of waste management, resource efficiency, and circular economy principles.
• Proficiency in IT tools such as Power BI, Microsoft SWAY, Forms, and Lists.
