Job summary

Clancy is recruiting an Environmental & Sustainability Advisor in Basingstoke to support environmental excellence across design, construction and reinstatement phases, ensuring regulatory compliance and safeguarding the environment.

The role involves environmental assessments, data provision, inspections, ISO 14001 compliance, and collaboration with colleagues, clients and regulators; full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an environmental role is essential.
• Understanding of environmental legislation relevant to civil engineering/utilities.
• Experience writing environmental plans and interpreting data.
• Ability to provide risk-mitigating environmental advice.
• Full UK drivers licence required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake environmental assessments and produce plans aligned with the environmental management system.
• Ensure work complies with legal requirements and protects the environment.
• Support provision of accurate environmental data.
• Monitor, analyse and report environmental performance.
• Carry out inspections and audits to ISO 14001 and permits, recording non-conformances.
• Provide incident management support and promote environmental best practice.
• Ensure incidents and near misses are reported and corrective actions undertaken.

Environmental & Sustainability Advisor

The Role

We have an opportunity for an Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to support the delivery of environmental excellence and promote innovation that delivers sustainable growth.

As an Environmental & Sustainability Advisor, you will be providing advice across the design, construction and reinstatement phases of our projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting the safeguarding of the environment.

This varied role will put your excellent communication skills to great use, as you'll be collaborating with many colleagues, clients and statutory regulators.

Here are just some of the activities you'll be involved with…

• Undertake environmental assessments and produce plans in-line with the environmental management system.
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with legal requirements and provides protection to the environment.
• Support the provision of accurate environmental data.
• Undertake monitoring, analysing and reporting of environmental performance.
• Carry out inspections and audits in-line with ISO 14001, permits and environmental legislation, ensuring any non-conformance and improvement recommendations are recorded and actioned.
• Provide incident management support to operational teams, in addition to promoting environmental best practise.
• Ensure incidents and near misses are reported, categorised and corrective actions are undertaken.

• Previous experience in an environmental role is essential.
• An understanding of environmental legislation that is relevant to the civil engineering and/or utilities industries.
• Some experience of managing environmental risks and the ability to write environmental plans & reports and interpret data.
• Demonstrable experience in providing great advice that mitigates risk and supports compliance with legislation, along with a passion for the environment and seeking new innovations and improvements.
• This role is mostly field based, so a full UK drivers licence is essential.
