Clancy is seeking a hands-on Environmental Advisor to deliver environmental excellence across civil engineering sites. This field-based role is about being present, visible and influential on site, not desk-based strategy.
You’ll support design, construction and reinstatement, ensure compliance, minimise impact, and drive continuous improvements with operational teams and regulators.
and if you are concerned about the environment and what’s going on around you - we have a lot in common!
If you’re at your best out on site, talking to engineers, challenging decisions, spotting risks before they become problems and rolling up your sleeves to put things right, this could be the role for you.
We’re looking for a hands‑on and experienced field‑based Environmental Advisor to help us deliver environmental excellence across our civil engineering projects. This is not a desk‑based sustainability strategy role. It’s about being present, visible and influential where it really matters - out on site.
You’ll be supporting projects through design, construction and reinstatement, ensuring we stay compliant, minimise impact and continuously improve how we work.
Previous experience in an environmental role within the civil engineering, construction or utilities sectors, together with a good understanding of environmental legislation and how it applies to operational projects. You'll be confident managing environmental risks, preparing environmental plans and reports, and using environmental data to identify opportunities for practical improvements.
You will be comfortable working closely with operational teams, providing advice and guidance while having the confidence to challenge where necessary to ensure environmental standards are maintained. Most importantly, you'll have a genuine passion for protecting and enhancing the environment through practical, on‑site delivery rather than theory alone.
A relevant environmental qualification or membership, such as IEMA, CIWEM, IES or CIWM, together with a degree in an environmental discipline, would be desirable.
As this is a predominantly field-based role, a full UK driving licence is essential.
If you’re looking for a purely office‑based sustainability or policy role, this isn’t the right fit, but if you want to make a tangible difference on live projects and see the impact of your advice every day, we’d love to hear from you.
Every day we work smarter, greener and use our imaginations.
