Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking an HSE Assistant to support Environmental, Health and Safety standards across the site. You will manage EHS documentation, promote a proactive safety culture and help ensure site compliance with ISO standards.

The role requires NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or working towards), strong verbal and written communication, and excellent organisational skills. The position involves working in a manufacturing environment within the John Lewis Partnership network.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification (or working towards) is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication is required.
• Exceptional organisational skills are essential.
• Experience in a EHS role is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HS&E documentation and reporting in line with ISO standards.
• Review risk assessments and implement risk reduction actions.
• Conduct regular branch checks to ensure HS&E compliance.
• Support HS&E initiatives through onsite representatives.
• Ensure reporting for Near Misses, Accidents, and RIDDORs.
• Keep up to date with HS&E legislative requirements.

You will maintain complete accuracy across all EHS documentation and reporting requirements while using your expertise to champion a proactive Health and Safety culture within the workplace,

• Maintain a working knowledge of all HS&E legislative requirements and industry developments.
• Conduct regular branch checks to ensure all HS&E policies and procedures are followed.
• Ensure all documentation aligns with standard templates, is accurately maintained, and reflects ISO standards of accreditation.
• Review all risk assessments and take appropriate action to actively reduce risk.
• Support and drive HS&E initiatives through onsite H&S representatives.
• Ensure sufficient and accurate reporting mechanisms are in place for activities including Near Misses, Accidents, and RIDDORs.
  Demonstrable experience of working in a EHS role
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification (or working towards)
• Excellent verbal & written communication
• Exceptional organisational skills

Desirable skills/experience you may have

• Experience working in a HS&E role in a manufacturing environment
• Sound knowledge of ISO standards 9001, 14001 & 45001
