Job summary

Irwin and Colton are recruiting an Environment Advisor to support a major construction and engineering project in Buckinghamshire. You will own environmental management and sustainability initiatives, working with project teams, clients and the broader Environmental and Sustainability function.

The role requires proven environmental experience in construction, strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and BREEAM, and a degree in a related field. A full UK driving licence is beneficial. Reference AL 5119.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the environment and sustainability space within construction or a related sector.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001 and BREEAM.
• Degree in an environment or sustainability field; professional membership with a recognised environmental body preferred.
• Good ability to build relationships with external stakeholders to meet strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out regular site inspections and environmental monitoring against KPIs and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Supporting project teams with carbon reduction, waste management and net zero initiatives.
• Providing guidance on environmental compliance, permits, licences and environmental risk management.
• Supporting training, reporting and project documentation with project managers, clients and the Environmental and Sustainability team.

Are you an Environmental professional looking to take the next step in your career within one of Europe's largest principal contractors?

Irwin and Colton are delighted to announce that we are partnering with a leading principal contractor to recruit for an Environment Advisor. The role is supporting in the delivery of a major construction and engineering project in Buckinghamshire, which includes taking ownership of environmental management and sustainability initiatives, whilst working closely with project teams, clients and the wider Environmental and Sustainability function.

Responsibilities of the Environment Advisor include:

• Carrying out regular site inspections and environmental monitoring, reviewing site performance against environmental KPIs and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Supporting project teams with carbon reduction, waste management and net zero initiatives.
• Providing guidance and advice to project teams on environmental compliance, including legislation, permits, licences and environmental risk management.
• Supporting training, reporting and project documentation, working closely with project managers, clients and the wider Environmental and Sustainability team.

A Successful Environment Advisor will have:

• Proven experience in the environment and sustainability space within the construction industry or a related sector.
• Strong working knowledge of both ISO 14001 and BREEAM.
• A degree in a related environment or sustainability field and ideally holding a professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM)
• A strong ability to build relationships with external stakeholders to help meet strategic objectives.
