Entry Level Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Ealing
Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Supporting special needs students in a classroom setting under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with special needs to help them access the curriculum.
  • Assisting with personal care tasks, as required, such as feeding, toileting, and mobility support.
  • Participating in team meetings and liaising with parents, carers, and other professionals to support student progress.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Relevant experience or training in supporting individuals with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Education:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable).
  • Additional training in areas such as autism awareness or behaviour management (advantageous).

Experience:

  • Prior experience working with children or young people with special needs.
  • Familiarity with educational settings and practises.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different special educational needs and how they may impact learning.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Certification in First Aid and/or Manual Handling.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based in Ealing, Greater London.
  • Working hours typically follow the school timetable.
  • Salary range: £90 - £110 per day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
