Job summary

First Base Employment is recruiting for Sewing Machine Operator (Trainee) in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. The role offers 4 days per week, 8:00am–6:00pm, with full training provided to develop industrial sewing skills.

You will operate various sewing machines, read plans, and ensure quality and accuracy to production standards while maintaining a clean work environment and meeting targets.

Qualifications

• No prior sewing experience required; full training provided.
• Excellent attention to detail and steady hand-eye coordination.
• Able to follow written instructions and technical drawings.
• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
• Comfortable operating machinery and performing repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines (single needle, double needle, overlock).
• Sew and reinforce fabrics, webbing, Velcro and other materials.
• Read and follow drawings, build plans and work instructions.
• Produce high-quality work to specified measurements and tolerances.
• Carry out quality checks on finished products.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Meet production targets with accuracy and focus.
