Job summary

Akon Security in Canterbury (covering Kent & South East England) is recruiting Event Stewards to help keep crowds safe and friendly at a range of live events. No SIA licence is required; training provided and a supportive path to licensed roles.

As an Event Steward you will direct guests, manage queues, monitor crowd areas, report incidents, and assist with evacuations if needed, all while maintaining a professional, approachable manner and flexible shift options.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events (or equivalent; we can assist)
• Event stewarding is ideal for those new to security and seeking hands-on experience in a supported environment
• No previous security experience is necessary, just reliability, communication, and a genuine commitment to keeping people safe.

Responsibilities

• Direct and assist guests throughout events
• Manage queues and control entry flow
• Monitor spectator and crowd areas for safety concerns
• Report incidents quickly to the supervising security team
• Assist with emergency evacuation procedures if required
• Maintain a friendly, professional, and approachable manner
