Job Opportunity: Entry-Level Accounts Payable Assistant
Location: Colchester
Pay: £12.21-£12.82 per hour + Holiday Pay, Pension & Adecco Benefits
Contract: Temporary to Permanent - Full Time (Monday to Friday)
Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm (37.5 hours per week)

Are you looking to kick-start your career in finance? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers? We're working with a leading manufacturing and production company in Colchester that's looking for a motivated Accounts Payable Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the beginning of their accounting journey, whether you're currently studying AAT remotely, or have some basic finance experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assisting with processing supplier invoices and payments
  • Helping to manage daily accounts payable tasks
  • Supporting with bank reconciliations (training provided)
  • Keeping supplier records accurate and up to date
  • Learning about VAT processes for European operations
  • Verifying supplier banking details with guidance
  • Providing general support to the finance team
What We're Looking For:
  • A Level or Graduate-level education (or equivalent)
  • Studying towards an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT) or keen to start
  • Some basic experience in finance or admin (through work, study, or volunteering)
  • A willingness to learn and grow in a finance role
Skills That Will Help You Succeed:
  • Good attention to detail and organisation
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Eagerness to learn accounting systems like Sage or Datacor (training provided)
  • Ability to work well in a team and manage your time effectively
