Ian Williams Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Watford-based commercial team. The role covers estimating, tendering and cost management for painting, decorating and refurbishment projects across public, housing, education and commercial sectors.

You will tender, estimate and measure onsite, manage commercial risks, and build strong client and subcontractor relationships while supporting frameworks and core contracts with prestigious housing clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar estimating and commercially focused surveying role.
• Experience of the commercial ownership of projects and contracts from tender and estimation stages through to final account.
• Experience of working for a painting or refurbishment contractor would be advantageous.
• Experience of successfully managing commercially a total value of works up to £2 million annually.

Responsabilités

• Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any commercial risks and mitigation.
• Prepare cost value reconciliations for contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the outset.
• Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity labour targets are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives where possible.
• Build strong client, supplier, and subcontractor relations to ensure variations and progress are discussed and commercially viable solutions sought.
• Complete and analyse weekly reporting from site with cost information (labour rates, budgets, value, progress, quality, and safety).
