Job summary

Stockport Primary School in Stockport is seeking an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join its welcoming team. You will support learning in nursery or reception settings and help children build a strong early foundation through play-based activities.

The successful candidate will have EYFS understanding, experience in Early Years, and a patient, caring approach. A Level 2 or 3 TA qualification is required and opportunities for ongoing professional development are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Early Years setting (Nursery or Reception).
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Ability to support children's learning through play-based activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring and positive approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Phonics knowledge and early language development.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality Early Years provision.
• Work with individuals and small groups to develop communication, language, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Create stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
• Support children's personal, social and emotional development.
• Observe, monitor and record children's progress against EYFS outcomes.
• Encourage learning through play and child-led activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
