Role: Enterprise Mobile Architect
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom (3 days a week in London)
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architectural design and implementation of a comprehensive design system supporting multiple products and platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable design system solutions.
- Define and document architecture principles, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and reusability.
- Analyze existing systems and tools to identify integration opportunities and streamline workflows.
- Stay updated on industry trends and user feedback to evolve and enhance the design system.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
- Evaluate third-party libraries and tools for inclusion in the design system ecosystem.
- Promote the adoption of the design system within the organization through advocacy and knowledge sharing.
- Work with DevOps to establish CI/CD pipelines for deployment and maintenance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Proven experience as a solution architect or similar role, with a focus on design systems.
- Experience with Storybook, Chromatic, and Zeroheight.
- Experience creating automation processes for component governance.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles.
- Experience with version control systems, package managers, and dependency management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership abilities, including mentoring and facilitating decision-making.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
