Job summary

Central Government Department in the UK seeks a Senior Digital Director to lead a major Enterprise DDaT transformation, reporting into the CDIO group and partnering with multiple agencies.

The role demands executive-level leadership, governance design, and delivering a target operating model across complex environments, including multi-vendor arrangements. Hybrid work in London or Manchester; Inside IR35; 12-month duration; rate £1,300 per day.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior leadership experience within the Civil Service.
• Proven track record leading large-scale digital/technology transformations.
• Experience designing operating models in complex environments.
• Strong ability to navigate multi-agency and vendor partnerships.
• Experience reporting to executive boards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a complex, multi-departmental Enterprise DDaT transformation.
• Establish the programme structure, governance and delivery architecture.
• Design and embed the target DDaT operating model.
• Coordinate across teams, capabilities, systems and cultures.
• Develop multi-vendor and external partnership arrangements.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to build consensus and drive decisions.
• Manage transformation risks and report into senior governance and boards.
• Provide clear leadership in a complex, evolving environment.
