Coventry Building Society is seeking a Head of Enterprise Controls to lead 1LoD risk, governance and resilience. The role focuses on strengthening control environments, incident and crisis management, and ensuring regulatory compliance across the group.

You will work across Coventry and Manchester sites, guiding large teams and engaging with the Executive Committee to drive risk-aware decision making and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading enterprise controls and first line risk in a large regulated financial services organisation.
• Proven ability to lead managers and specialist teams across complex structures.
• Strong understanding of retail banking, lending and non-financial risk management frameworks.

Responsabilités

• Lead development and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide first line risk and control frameworks, governance and assurance activities.
• Manage 1st Line managers and teams across customer journeys and operations.
• Own and enhance Group Operational Resilience, incident, business continuity and crisis management frameworks.
• Monitor risk appetite, control performance, emerging risks and assurance outcomes; report to executives and boards.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to drive risk-aware culture and effective non-financial risk management.
• Provide high-quality insight and assurance to Executive and Board Committees.
