Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc is seeking an AI for Technology Operations Lead at Director level to own AI strategy, adoption and governance across Technology Operations in London. You will align initiatives into a coherent programme, set operating models, and ensure auditable, compliant AI delivery in a regulated bank.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in banking, financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Proven delivery of enterprise-scale technology transformation and organisational change.
• Experience defining and executing AI strategy, investment priorities and roadmaps across complex stakeholder groups.
• Strong practical knowledge of AIOps, MLOps, machine learning, Generative AI, LLMs and AI agents.
• Deep understanding of technology operations, operational resilience and technology risk.
• Ability to establish AI governance, assurance, control and model-monitoring frameworks for safe adoption and audit scrutiny.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, observability tooling, automation frameworks and platform engineering.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across engineering, architecture, data and operations.
• Ability to coordinate technology suppliers and delivery partners across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategy for AI adoption and governance across Technology Operations, improving governance flow, effectiveness and efficiency.
• Consolidate duplicated AI initiatives into a single programme with clear investment priorities and roadmaps.
• Shape sustainable AI-powered operating models aligned with HSBC’s transformation ambitions.
• Establish governance, assurance, control and model-monitoring in a regulated environment.
• Build and manage multidisciplinary teams including coaching and career development.
• Oversee Enterprise Architecture to deliver outcomes while managing technical debt.
• Define engineering standards for AI solution development, testing, deployment, monitoring and retirement.
• Govern technology suppliers and delivery partners with accountability for value, quality and control.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear decisions for senior stakeholders.
