SSE plc is seeking its first Group Head of AI to define and lead an enterprise AI capability across the organisation. You will shape strategy, governance, and platform standards, ensuring safe and scalable AI adoption with strong cross‑functional collaboration.

You will oversee secure, cost‑effective AI platforms, drive lifecycle governance, and partner with Data, Architecture, Cyber, Legal and Procurement to deliver measurable value.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior technology leadership in a large regulated organisation.
• Proven track record delivering AI-enabled platforms in production.
• Strong grasp of modern AI architecture, lifecycle engineering and governance.
• Experience connecting AI investment to measurable business outcomes.

Responsabilités

• Own and execute SSE’s group‑wide AI strategy and investment roadmap.
• Establish secure, cost‑effective enterprise AI platforms and standards.
• Create and operate an enterprise AI governance and lifecycle framework.
• Provide pathways from discovery to production with cross‑SSE adoption.
• Collaborate with Data, Architecture, Legal, Risk, and Procurement teams.
• Shape choices across models, compute, sovereignty, and resilience.
• Build a high‑performing enterprise AI function with inclusive pathways.
