Job summary

Amtis Professional is seeking an AI Engineer to design, develop and deploy AI-enabled software using .NET/C# and Azure services. You will work across the full SDLC in a hybrid role based in Chester.

The role combines software engineering with applied AI, including building scalable enterprise applications, AI features, RAG and vector search, and secure, observable production systems. You’ll collaborate with an established AI capability and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial software engineering experience, ideally within the Microsoft technology stack.
• Good development experience with C#/.NET and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience designing, building and deploying production applications within Microsoft Azure.
• Exposure to building AI-enabled applications using technologies such as Azure AI, Microsoft AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Semantic Kernel, Agent Framework or similar.
• Understanding of RAG, LLMs, vector search and agentic AI concepts.
• Experience integrating applications with APIs, cloud services and enterprise systems.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, source control and automated testing.
• Experience building secure, scalable and maintainable production software.
• An interest in emerging AI technologies and how they can be applied to solve real business problems.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing scalable, maintainable software solutions using .NET/C# and Microsoft Azure.
• Building AI capabilities into enterprise applications and existing business processes.
• Developing solutions using Microsoft AI Foundry, Agent Framework and Azure AI services.
• Designing APIs, services and integrations to connect AI capabilities with wider enterprise systems.
• Building agentic AI applications, including multi-agent workflows and orchestration.
• Developing RAG solutions using vector search, enterprise data and retrieval techniques.
• Writing clean, maintainable and well-tested production code.
• Working with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing and DevOps practices.
• Ensuring applications are secure, scalable, resilient and observable.
• Contributing to architecture, technical design and engineering standards.
• Working with stakeholders to understand business problems and translate them into effective software solutions.
