Job description

South Bank Colleges is currently seeking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic Enrolment Support Workers to join the Student Recruitment team. This role is crucial for assisting in the College's recruitment efforts during the pivotal enrolment period for new and progressing students. The aim is to ensure a seamless and successful transition into the new academic year.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the onboarding process during the College's summer enrolment period.
  2. Provide excellent customer service to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  3. Perform front-facing duties and manage initial contact activities related to student admissions and enrolment, including processing information efficiently and accurate data entry.
  4. Work Schedule:
    1. Variable hours from Monday to Friday, including one Saturday.
    2. Enrolment Training: 13th August to 19th August 2025 (excluding weekends - 5 days).
    3. Main Enrolment Period: 20th August to 5th September 2025, including Saturday, 30th August.
    4. Extended Enrolment: 8th September to 19th September 2025 (variable with additional support requirements communicated nearer to these dates).
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in roles requiring direct interaction with the public and delivering high-quality customer service.
  2. Previous experience in further education or a related field is preferred, including familiarity with student records and admissions systems.
  3. Candidates must be able to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications:
General Duties:

Skills:

Main Purpose of the Job: The post holder will support enrolment and admissions tasks across all campuses. They will work collaboratively with other members of the Student Recruitment team to achieve overall service and organisational targets for stage conversion throughout the student journey pipeline. They will be a highly professional front-line staff member providing a high-quality service that delivers efficient and effective solutions to ensure growth in student enrolment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Support the delivery of a professional, fair, accurate, and efficient applicant experience for new and progressing students across SBC campuses, providing IAG and undertaking conversion activities through the admissions and enrolment pipeline.
  2. Ability to welcome visitors and promote the College positively, dealing tactfully and sensitively with people in difficult circumstances.
  3. Having a good understanding of Information Technology, including Microsoft packages and other relevant systems.
  4. Assist the call centre, taking initial contact calls, transferring customers to relevant departments, and carrying out applicant conversion activities.
  5. Ensure consistent assessment of applications submitted, exercising robust decision-making and strong attention to detail. Make admissions decisions in accordance with SBC selection/entry criteria, English language requirements, and delegated decision-making authority.
  6. Work closely with key stakeholders, liaising with curriculum staff and other professional services to support students through the admissions and enrolment process to attendance at college.
  7. Ensure the creation and maintenance of accurate applications and enrolment data across appropriate internal and external databases/systems.
  8. Conduct outbound conversion activities to follow up with applicants for any outstanding information or documents related to admissions decisions and the enrolment process, moving students through pipeline stages.
  9. Identify where additional information is required and liaise with prospective students accordingly.
  10. Assess supporting documentation, carry out loan, fee, and personal status assessments, and advise applicants on their personal and course eligibility and procedural matters.
  11. Accurately and securely take payments for course fees and registration fees.
  12. Assist in the administration of the Advanced Learner Loan scheme and act as a liaison between SBC and loan providers.
  13. Utilise positive and effective communication skills to provide customer-focused and efficient IAG services to applicants, enhancing conversion to accepted students.
  14. Understand SBC's curriculum portfolio and entry criteria, providing IAG to support students in making correct course choices, fostering a 'right student, right course' ethos.
  15. Uphold and demonstrate cross-college standards in professional conduct and service excellence, promoting a Student First culture while ensuring all communications maintain brand integrity and comply with external standards.
  16. Support college staff in advising students on admissions and enrolment practices and processes.
  17. Deliver actions in accordance with regulations, policies, guidelines, and deadlines laid down by SBC, government, and external agencies (e.g., Advanced Learner Loans, Local Authority).
  18. Attend on-site enrolment training and meetings and any relevant virtual training/meetings.
