Job description

Enhanced Teaching Assistant (Nursery)
Grade 6 £27,269 - £30,060 pro rata
Full Time, Term Time Only + 2 weeks
Temporary – Required as soon as possible until 31/08/2026

Wingate Nursery School are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, playful adult who enjoys children's company, has a happy, positive disposition and a genuine love of learning, The school is looking for an educator who will not steer the direction of the children's play, or bombard it with their own talk and ideas, but rather be guided by the children to facilitate good learning.

They want an educator who is knowledgeable about child development, but also about lots of things that children are interested in eg dinosaurs, sea creatures, wildlife, music, food, fairies, superheroes, birds, growing food etc. Things you are not so confident about, can become joint research with the children.

The position is for a key person to take responsibility for a group of children - contributing to their journals, the planning and documentation of learning. The role is also about working together to create beautiful, reflective and provocative environments, indoors and outdoors.
Qualities the school are looking for in a team player are creativity, innovation, positivity, resilience and stamina.

In return, the new employee will receive a great package:
• The opportunity to work at a highly respected and recognised Nursery School that has an Outstanding Ofsted rating for over 27 years
• Be an employee at a school that holds the Investors in People award at GOLD STANDARD
• The opportunity to work across 3 school sites, two of which are permanently outdoors
• Ongoing in-house training and professional development

• Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus
