Location: Totnes, Devon
Salary: £24,420 - £39,300 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Our client, a supportive mixed day special school based in Totnes, Devon, is seeking a dedicated and flexible English Teacher to join their team. This role is ideal for candidates with teaching experience who may not hold QTS but have a strong background in English education and a desire to support students with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to the individual needs of students
Support learners with a wide range of special educational needs in a nurturing environment
Monitor and assess student progress, adapting lessons accordingly
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes confidence and resilience
Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure holistic development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience teaching English, ideally within a SEN or alternative provision setting
Strong subject knowledge and the ability to adapt teaching methods
A nurturing, patient, and flexible approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to inclusive education and student-centred learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
