Job summary

Justteachers Ltd in Leeds is seeking a passionate English Teacher to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with KS5 for progression desirable. The successful candidate will inspire students, develop language and literature understanding, and contribute to a forward-thinking English department.

You will plan, deliver, assess, and report on progress, differentiate for SEND and EAL learners, and support whole-school aims while maintaining high expectations and strong classroom

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Specialism in English Language and/or English Literature.
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 with KS5 desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3/KS4 and KS5 as appropriate.
• Assess, record and report on students’ progress and attainment.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning.
• Differentiate lessons to meet SEND and EAL needs.

• Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school activities.

About the role

Justteachers are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to work within a secondary school in the Leeds area. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner to inspire students and contribute to a supportive and forward-thinking department.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable), helping students develop a strong grasp of English language and literature.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Assess, record and report on students’ progress and attainment
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students
• Monitor and manage student behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies
• Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school activities
• Support students in achieving their academic potential and personal development

Pre-requisites

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Specialism in English Language and/or English Literature
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
• Strong classroom management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities
