Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd is recruiting a motivated English Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Slough from September. The role focuses on delivering engaging KS3/KS4 English lessons to develop reading, writing and analytical skills and to support GCSE preparation.

The successful candidate will have QTS or equivalent, experience teaching English at the secondary level, and a passion for literacy. Competitive MPS/UPS pay and a long-term opportunity are offered.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English at secondary level.
• ECTs encouraged to apply with relevant placements.
• Strong knowledge of English Language and Literature.
• Confident classroom presence and behaviour management skills.
• Flexible, well-organised approach to teaching.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teaching English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4.
• Supporting pupils in preparation for GCSE examinations.
• Encouraging analytical thinking and a love of reading and writing.
• Adapting teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
• Establishing routines and maintaining positive behaviour.
• Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development.
• Working closely with colleagues, parents, and pastoral teams.
