Burnley High School in England invites applications for a hardworking English Teacher to join us on a permanent contract as soon as possible. The successful applicant will plan and deliver a broad, balanced English curriculum, monitor pupil progress and support their personal and academic growth within a caring environment.

You will contribute to raising attainment, work as a form tutor where needed and help pupils achieve their individual potential, guided by our commitment to transform lives

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Degree level in English or post-degree conversion course
• Proven record of helping students reach high standards of learning and achievement
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and re-prioritise workload
• A high level of self-awareness – knows strengths and weaknesses and can relate to difficult personality types well
• Excellent ICT skills for teaching

Responsibilities

• Implement and deliver a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils.
• Monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils as a teacher/form tutor.
• Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
• Contribute to raising standards of pupil attainment.
• Share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
