Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking enthusiastic English teachers to cover secondary schools across Wigan and surrounding areas. Immediate starts available from short-term to long-term placements, with flexible demand to fit your availability.

We welcome both experienced teachers and ECTs who want valuable classroom experience. You will deliver English language and literature across KS3/KS4, plan and assess progress, and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Experience teaching English in UK secondary schools is preferred.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour skills are essential.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one is required.

Responsibilities

Immediate Start | Short-Term to Long-Term Assignments | Veritas Education

Veritas Education are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated English Teachers to work in secondary schools across Wigan and the surrounding areas. We have opportunities available for an immediate start, ranging from short-term cover to long-term placements.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to gain valuable classroom experience, we would love to hear from you.

The Role:

• Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan, prepare and assess pupil progress where required.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
• Work collaboratively with school staff to support student achievement.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching English in UK secondary schools.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• A genuine passion for inspiring young people through English.
