Job description

English Teacher

Location: Weston-super-Mare

Salary: From £162 day to £251 per day paid to scale

Hours: Monday to Friday, between 8:15am to 3:15pm (part-time would also be considered)

Starting date: 22nd of April until 22nd of July.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum for Key Stage 3 and 4 classes.
  2. Inspire students with a passion for language and literature, adapting teaching methods to diverse needs.
  3. Assess and provide constructive feedback on assignments, tests, and homework.
  4. Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment with effective behavior management.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to staff meetings and administrative tasks.
  6. Stay updated with curriculum changes and participate in professional development.
  7. Support students' personal growth, encouraging independent research and teamwork.

What we are looking for:

  1. Exceptional spoken and written English with excellent communication skills.
  2. You must also pass an enhanced background (DBS) check.
  3. Deep understanding of the national curriculum.
  4. An unwavering passion for education and student achievement.
  5. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and previous experience working in a UK school will be desirable.
