Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a team for the 2025–2026 academic year. This fixed-term role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a sustained impact on students’ academic progress and love for English.

Duties as English Teacher:

1. Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 available depending on experience).
2. Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with curriculum objectives.
3. Mark and assess student work, providing constructive feedback to support progress.
4. Monitor and track pupil attainment, implementing interventions when required.
5. Contribute to departmental planning, assessment, and whole-school literacy initiatives.
6. Maintain a high standard of classroom behaviour and support a positive learning environment.
7. Hold QTS and have strong subject knowledge in English.
8. Be confident, adaptable, and committed to high standards of teaching and learning.
9. Possess excellent communication and classroom management skills as an English Teacher.
10. Be a collaborative team player who contributes to a supportive and dynamic department.
11. Show commitment to inclusion, student wellbeing, and continued professional growth.
